In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Femigrants Foundation proudly hosted the “Together We Rise 2.0” event, bringing together 50 diverse immigrant leaders for an Empowering Brunch. The event served as a platform for immigrant business owners to showcase their services and foster mutual support, highlighting the resilience and creativity within our community.
Throughout the brunch, attendees were inspired by insightful presentations from esteemed business presenters and keynote speakers. Ezgi Akcinar, PhD, shared valuable insights on achieving work-life balance, while Lana Kor offered expert advice on purchasing affordable housing in the Bay Area. Jyothi Vemu captivated the audience with her strategies for nurturing young minds into coding ninjas.
Our keynote and fireside chat speakers further enriched the event with their wisdom and experiences. Lital Cohen shared invaluable public speaking tips, Mona Shaikh entertained us with her humorous take on immigrant experiences, and Hafsa Tahir provided insights into startup and fundraising challenges. Katie Fenner, CFA, rounded off the discussions with practical advice on fundraising from an investor’s perspective.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to our community, several individuals were honored with awards as Femigrants’ Champions. These include Johnson Hor, Araz Javadov, Elizaveta Gandhi, Kate Khatseyeva, Sophia Yen, MD, MPH, Suzan Helvaci (our first sponsor, twice), Katerina Abdrashitova, and Dean Birinyi (our dedicated photographer and sponsor).
