The New York Mixer brought together a remarkable group of Femigrants, including an attorney, a PhD-turned-entrepreneur, a data expert, and even a dedicated woman serving in the army, all united to connect and empower one another. Attendees traveled from near and far, with one participant journeying from Philadelphia.
“Behind the scenes, organizing the event in an unfamiliar city was a rewarding challenge, from finding the perfect coffee shop venue to collaborating with an immigrant photographer building his business,” says Aytakin Aliyeva, as she organized this event in New York all by herself with no volunteer involved.
The success of this event has inspired the expansion of Femigrants into New York and beyond, with the launch of the Femigrants Ambassador Program planned for early 2025, empowering immigrant women to lead communities in their cities.
